Spring Division Guidelines

Updated Tuesday November 1, 2016 by Suzanne Dumas.

All divisions are coed.

Our program is for children league ages 4 - 12.

TBall Program

Tee Ball is divided into two divisions for our youngest players who are new or returning to the sport. Players are taught the fundamentals of baseball including throwing, catching, base running, hitting and fielding. Score is not kept.  The emphasis is placed on having fun and learning.

Wee Ball – For players league age 4

This is a "clinic" based division which introduces this age group to the most basic of baseball fundamentals.  Children will participate in 4 weekly clinics to learn baseball skills. Starting the 5th week thru the 8th week, the children will play one game per week.   There are no weekday games or practices in this division.

T-Ball - For players league age 5 – 6

Players use a tee during games to develop and reinforce the correct batting swing.  Coach Pitch will be introduced half way through the season.  If the batter does not put the ball in play after three pitches, a batting tee is used.

Baseball Program

Our baseball program is made up of several divisions, with age and skill level determining the division in which your child will play. In all divisions, players are taught the fundamentals of baseball including throwing, catching, base running, hitting, and fielding. More advanced concepts are introduced at each subsequent level.

Minors Division

Coach/Machine Pitch - For players league age 7 – 8

This is our overhand coach pitch or machine pitch division. Primarily league age 7 and 8.   A pitching machine may be used for accuracy and consistency to build the kids' confidence in facing "live" pitching.  Players continue to develop baseball fundamentals without keeping score.

Single A - For players league age 8 and older

This is our first level of "kid-pitch" play.  This is division is for kids 8 and older and players are selected based upon a skill level and a draft.  New fundamentals are introduced like pitching, bunting and stealing.  Kids are introduced to play where score is kept.

AA

This division is for players who participated in the Single A last spring and some new players with the experience and skill to play at a higher level.  Teams are introduced to playoffs at the end of the season.
